DUET Journalists’ Association Elects New Leadership for 2025
The Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) Journalists’ Association has formed its new executive committee for the 2025 session. The committee was finalized during the association’s last executive meeting of the 2024 session. Following the meeting, the Student Welfare Office of DUET, under the signature of its director, Professor Dr. Utpal Kumar Das, officially announced the list of the executive committee members.
According to the published list, Habibur Rahman, a fourth-year student of the Computer Science Department, has been named President, while Mahatab Hossain Dolon, a third-year student of the Civil Engineering Department, has been appointed as General Secretary.
Arman Chowdhury, a fourth-year student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department, has been elected Senior Vice President. Additionally, three Vice Presidents have been named: Masroor Hossain, a fourth-year Civil Engineering student; Imam Uddin, a fourth-year EEE student; and Roman Uddin, also a fourth-year Civil Engineering student.
The committee also includes Saifur Rahman Sabbir, a fourth-year Civil Engineering student, as Office and Secretariat Secretary, and Shihab Uddin, a third-year Industrial Production Engineering student, as Organizational Secretary. Poran Hossain, a third-year Textile Engineering student, has been appointed Sports Secretary, while Asif Iqbal, a second-year Civil Engineering student, will serve as Publicity and Media Secretary.
Rakibul Islam, a second-year student of the Mechanical Engineering Department, has been selected as Assistant Publicity and Media Secretary, and Monir Hossain, a second-year Civil Engineering student, has been chosen as Treasurer.
The executive committee members include Yusuf Ali (fourth-year, Mechanical Engineering), Mohona Akhter (fourth-year, Architecture), Hridoy Hossain (third-year, EEE), Morshed Hossain (second-year, Industrial Production Engineering), and Tariqul Islam Naim (second-year, Textile Engineering).
This newly elected leadership is expected to uphold the values of responsible journalism and contribute to a vibrant campus media environment at DUET.
